Watching Heart Chair

Watching Heart is a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art, created to explore vulnerability, emotion and the instinct to protect what we feel.

The chair has been completely reimagined and hand reupholstered by Pav, featuring an original appliqué artwork designed and made specifically for this piece. At its centre, an eye sits within a heart — a reminder that our emotions can be both vulnerable and watchful.

The eye appears again across the seat, surrounded by radiating panels that give the impression of something opening, expanding or being exposed.

The contrast between the traditional wooden chair frame and the surreal textile artwork is intentional — bringing together old and new, familiar and strange, furniture and art.

Every element has been considered and made by hand, making this a completely unique piece that cannot be replicated exactly.
